20th March 2013. 12-3.30pm – Digital Humanities Distributed Laboratory, 2nd floor, Avenue Campus
Wikipedian in Residence at the British Library
Andrew Gray is the Wikipedian in Residence at the British Library, working on an AHRC-funded program to help academics and researchers engage with Wikipedia and its community. A description of the project is available on the British Library blog: http://britishlibrary.typepad.co.uk/digital-scholarship/2013/02/wikipedia-and-the-british-library.html
The event will begin with a networking lunch (buffet and hot drinks provided) with an opportunity to meet Andrew and his colleagues, and will be followed from 1pm onwards by a practical workshop, ending at 3/3:30pm.
In the practical workshop, Andrew will give an outline of the project and how it developed, followed by a practical session working with Wikipedia to learn how to engage with and contribute to the project.
